Let there be Carnage, and let there be waffles!
In the first trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage — the sequel to Venom (2018) — Venom is no longer causing chaos throughout the city, but instead wrecking Eddie Brock’s kitchen and threatening the occasional store clerk over chocolate. The symbiote seems content with its new life as it eats waffles instead of people. All of this changes quickly as we meet the new villain in town.
In the post-credit scene of the last film, Cletus Kasady (played by Woody Harrelson) promised there would be carnage when he escaped prison. This trailer proved exactly that as we got the first look at Harrelson playing the fan-favorite villain, Carnage. While Brock can reign in Venom’s people-eating ways, Kasady is also taken over by an alien symbiote but he doesn’t want to stop it from causing damage. He’s a deranged serial killer, which makes him even more powerful and oh, so evil.
Fans are questioning whether Spider-Man might make an appearance in the film, especially after a squashed spider steals a scene in this nearly 3-minute trailer. Venom is one of Spider-Man’s greatest enemies, notably played by Topher Grace in the… memorable Spider-Man 3 (2007). There’s no knowing if Tom Holland will show up, but the one thing we do know? We cannot wait until Sept. 24, when Venom: Let There Be Carnage hits theaters.
