Get ready to head back in time to the town of Bedrock and meet the Flintstones!
Warner Bros. Animation and Brownstone Productions (helmed by Elizabeth Banks) are collaborating on a new, animated Flintstones series.
The project, still in early development, is described as a “primetime animated adult comedy series based on an original idea featuring characters from The Flintstones.” While we don’t know much else yet, Warner Bros. Animation has signed on to produce the series, but no network is currently attached.
The original series ran on ABC for six seasons with more than 150 episodes between 1960 and 1966, following the adventures of the Flintstone family (Fred, Wilma, Pebbles, and their trusted pet Dino) and their neighbors, the Rubbles (Barney, Betty, and Bamm-Bamm), in the Stone Age. The series was followed up with multiple television specials and two live-action films.
Banks’ Brownstone Productions recently re-signed its deal with Warner Bros. Television this summer, actively producing new TV and film projects, including Charlie’s Angels.
