There’s a new kickstarter campaign for the Adventure Time Card Wars 10th Anniversary, and it features foil cards and stretch goals that will make you feel like a cool guy. The Adventure Time Card Wars tabletop game is based on the “Card Wars” episodes of the Cartoon Network show!
If you’re familiar with the show but not the game, don’t let your brain dial turn your fear volume up, it’s fairly easy to learn. Two players go head-to-head by spending Actions to defeat the other play and earn the title of “Cool Guy.” With a 40-card deck, Adventure Time fans can play Creatures onto Landscape tiles to attack the other player, use Spells to gain advantage, and play Buildings to enhance their Landscapes. You win by reducing your opponent’s Hit Points to zero wins.
The campaign combines the six original card packs into the new Adventure Time Card Wars: Ultimate Collection — Finn vs. Jake, BMO vs. Lady Rainicorn, Princess Bubblegum vs. Lumpy Space Princess, Ice King vs. Marceline, Lemongrab vs. Gunter, and Fionna vs. Cake. The collection features around 500 game cards and new game content that players can unlock during the campaign.
Fans can also preorder the Deluxe Edition of the Doubles Tournament game, the Collector’s Storage Box, card sleeves, a playmat, and more. Adventure Time Card Wars: Double Tournament (Deluxe Edition) includes additional Heroes and special packaging while adding teamwork to your gameplay. Two players become Jake and Charlie as they battle two others playing as Grand Prix and Moniker.
The Collector’s Storage Box has an original piece of art by Robb Mommaerts on the cover, featuring Adventure Time characters playing the card game. It holds current cards with space for new releases.
There are also stretch goals that can be unlocked. This includes 7 new heroes, 36 new cards (two of each), one promo hero, 107 For the Glory! booster cards, two promo cards, upgraded card quality, and two foil promo cards.
One foil promo cards features “The Pig.” The foil variant card of “The Pig” features an image of Floop the Pig, deemed as “Rainbow Creature,” on a colorful, foil card. Fans will recognize the card, as it’s an important part of the Season 4 episode called “Card Wars.”
Pledge tiers start at $65, and fans have until tomorrow, Dec. 15, to pledge at kickstarter.com. You can expect your preorder items such as the Collector’s Storage Box next September.
