SDCC: Bandai Namco Storms SDCC with Godzilla, Gundam, & ‘Gotchis Galore

Godzilla might be the King of Monsters, but Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America is the King of Merch. 

Bandai Namco is stomping back to Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) this year with an action-packed series of events, exclusives, and exhibits featuring all your favorite franchises. From Gundam to Godzilla, Tamashii Nations to Tamagotchi, the lineup invades every corner of the con, turning the floor into a full-on creature feature. Whether snapping photos, crafting your own mobile suit, or grabbing all the collectibles you can carry, this is one takeover attendees don’t want to miss.  

The fun starts before the floor opens! On Preview Night, Wednesday, July 22, Godzilla will storm the GameStop in Mission Valley to meet his adoring fans, snap pictures, and give the crowd an early look at all the merch debuting at the show, like the Godziburst and Godzilla Scramble figure lines, and the first-ever Glow-in-the-Dark Burning Godzilla action figure. You can stop by from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Once the con kicks off, fans can head to Booth No. 3345 for even more kaiju collectibles, including a Godzilla Scramble Event Exclusive, free Godzilla mystery pins, and other monstrous must-haves. After shopping, fans can compete in trivia challenges and a roar contest for even more prizes, or step into the Escape Godzilla experience, complete with a free photo print to commemorate the con.

If you prefer cutesy to kaiju, don’t worry! At the same booth, Tamagotchi fans can celebrate the beloved brand’s 30th birthday in style with a wide variety of nostalgic collectibles, from an exclusive Pompompurin device to a limited-edition 30th Anniversary Tamagotchi, featuring a stunning clear shell and decorated packaging. The brand will also host a special anniversary panel on Friday, July 24, at 11 a.m. in Room 25ABC, looking back on Tamagotchis through time while giving fans sneak peeks of what’s next.

For manga maniacs, Tamashii Nations will set up shop at Booth No. 3329. The booth will feature an epic lineup of event-exclusive S.H. Figuarts action figures that fans can preorder on its website, as well as giveaways, statue photo spots, and select products from the Tamashii Nations Store New York. For even more anime awesomeness, stop by the Tamashii Nations Unveiled panel on Saturday, July 25, at 1 p.m. in Room 7AB to get a firsthand look at the brand’s upcoming, never-before-seen releases.

The excitement keeps building at Booth No. 3829, where Gundam will unveil the first-ever products inspired by the new Gundam anime series, which will officially debut during the Gundam Showcase 2026 panel on Thursday, July 23, at 10:30 a.m. in Room 6BCF. Fans can also shop event-exclusive model kits and collectibles, score free swag, snap photos with GUNPLA-kun and other giant Gundam displays, and you might even spot a sneak peek of the recently announced Gundam Rogue Orbit video game. 

Meanwhile, on Mezzanine 19, fans will find a free Gundam Workshop. This 30-minute experience walks fans through building their own GUNPLA model kit, and once complete, they can take it home as a souvenir. Participation is subject to availability and offered on a first-come, first-served basis — so make sure you stop by soon if you want to give it a try!
