History Has its Eyes on Disney: ‘Hamilton’ Movie Coming in 2021

Fans of Hamilton: put the checkbook down! You no longer have to sell everything you’ve ever loved to try to afford tickets to the Broadway masterpiece — it’s coming to theaters!

Disney is partnering with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jeffery Seller, and Thomas Kail to bring the 11-time-Tony-Award-winning play to the silver screen next October. The original cast — including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Daveed Diggs — filmed the musical live at the Richard Rodgers Theater in 2016.

Hamilton has become historical for more than just its award-winning beats. The film promises to bring the intimate world of the Broadway show to theaters in a brand-new way — no lottery necessary.
