Doctor Who

Doctor Who will return for its 12th season on Jan. 1, and none of us are ready. The sci-fi drama will start with a two-part special called Spyfall, according to Deadline.

This will mark Jodie Whittaker’s second season as the Doctor. The trailer that was released with the announcement proves that she will continue as the quirky, universe-saving timelord who we all love. The trailer starts with the word “crisis” uttered over and over — perhaps foreshadowing a very dramatic season. There will be plenty of aliens, what looks like a Ghostbusters monster, and even Stephen Fry.

BBC Studios has partnered with Fathom Events to simulcast the second episode on Jan. 5 at 600 theaters around the U.S. Whittaker, along with co-stars Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill, will take part in a Q&A following the screening at the Paley Center for Media in New York City.

Whovians can switch on BBC One or BBC America on New Years Day to begin the latest adventure.
