Details for the new Star Wars: Episode IX are tightly under wraps, but rumors are swirling that Matt Smith (the Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who) may play a young Palpatine.
The production announced over the summer that Smith joined the cast in a “key role,” but his exact part was still a mystery. However, the latest episode of The Weekly Planet Podcast stated that Smith may play a young Palpatine, the Dark Lord of the Sith and symbol of all that is evil. The information came from an anonymous source, so we’ll take it with a grain of salt, but with J.J. Abrams being so tight-lipped, any tea sounds appetizing at the moment.
