Good news! HBO has officially ordered its first Game of Thrones spinoff.

This prequel will take place thousands of years before events seen in the main series—way before the time of Jon Snow or Daenerys Targaryen. The project’s logline reads, “Only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.” Oooh, chills.

Jane Goldman, who wrote both Kingsman films, Kick-Ass and Stardust, worked on the plot for the pilot with George RR Martin. Goldman will serve as the showrunner for this spinoff. Dan Weiss and David Benioff, who produced GoT, will not be involved as executive producers.

While this is the first GoT spinoff  to have details confirmed, it may be not be the last. HBO’s Senior VP of drama Francesca Orsi said we can expect “three, four, five spin-offs” set in the GoT universe, and that given the wild success of GoT, it’d be “corporate malfeasance,” not to make as much out of the universe as possible. That said, the pilots and scripts will be going into a kind of trial-by-combat to see which one gets turned into a full series according to Esquire.

Despite the fact that HBO has all these other GoT spinoffs in the works, they did not skimp with funding this first one. “$50 million [per season] would never fly for what we are trying to do. We are going big,” Orsi told the INTV conference in March.
