WarnerMedia’s streaming service HBO Max is on the way along with a new reboot of the Gossip Girl TV series.
The series featuring the secretive gossip blogger that spills the tea on all the wealthy, teen, socialite drama is set to make a comeback with 10 hour-long episodes.
The upcoming show written by Joshua Safran (Quantico) is based on the book written by Cecily von Ziegesar, just like the original series. It follows a new set of New York private school teens after the original website went down eight years ago. The website restarts in a modern New York landscape with a major social media update.
The CW President Mark Pedowitz announced at TCA in January that there were talks to revive the Gossip Girl series. The first one, from Fake Empire, Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. TV, and CBS Television Studios, ran from 2007 to 2012 in six seasons with 121 episodes.
