Harrison Ford is set to play John Thornton, a prospector braving the Yukon in search of gold based on Call of the Wild. Adapted by 20th Century Fox from the 1903 Jack London novel about the 1890s Klondike gold rush, the film will be directed by Chris Sanders (The Croods) and scripted by Michael Green (Logan).

Production for Call of the Wild will begin in early September, and will feature heavy special effects from Technoprops, a studio whose founder, Glenn Derry, is best known for his work on the 2009 fantasy film, Avatar.

Ford is still slated to star in the fifth Indiana Jones installment, but production has been put on hold for script changes.
