It’s no Diagon Alley, but wizards in the U.S. can now purchase their invisibility cloaks at a familiar location: Walmart.
Those looking to enhance their mastery of the magical arts can appear to disappear with Wow! Stuff‘s all-new Wizarding World of Harry Potter Invisibility Cloak. As we reported last month, the much-buzzed-about Cloak has been available for preorder via Amazon, but those who cannot wait for the appearance of mystical Prime delivery truck can pick one up on their next visit to the hallowed realm of the powerful retail wizard, Sam Walton.
Following an appearance at the Pop Insider‘s rooftop pop-up party at Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) this month, attendees of the Toy Insider‘s 10th anniversary Sweet Suite event in New York City had the opportunity to experience the illusion first-hand in the Pop Insider‘s What’s Poppin’ Lounge last week.

Created by Wow! Stuff in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, the Invisibility Cloak features authentic patterning as seen in the Harry Potter films, along with a green, silk-style interior. The magical illusion comes to life with the aid of an iOS or Android device. Each cloak comes with a unique authentication code that will allow users to unlock the Invisibility Cloak section of the free Wow! Stuff app. Wearers can then photograph or film themselves re-enacting iconic scenes from the Harry Potter lore.
The Harry Potter Invisibility Cloak is designed for kids ages 8 and up and is available in standard ($69.99) and deluxe ($79.99) versions, with an official street date of Aug. 1.
No word yet on whether or not Walmart will begin stocking the Nimbus 2000, but we hear that they’ve added Niffler food to the pet department.
