Before we find out how the final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones wraps up, a cryptic message shared by Arya Stark herself (Maisie Williams) during a recent interview hints at what we can expect from the final season.
While discussing making her London stage debut with The Guardian, Williams called her final GOT scene a “beautiful” one.
“I ended on the perfect scene. I was alone – shocker!” Williams told The Guardian. “Arya’s always bloody alone. But I was alone and I had watched a lot of other people wrap. I knew the drill, I had seen the tears and heard the speeches. [My own speech] wasn’t something I planned, but in that moment I realized what the show meant to me.”

As Williams mentioned in the interview, throughout the series, Arya has often gone off on solo adventures. This comment seems to indicate that Arya will remain independent when the series wraps up.
Mentioning how she felt about the show ending when production wrapped in July, Williams told the newspaper how she felt ready to move on.
“I got to the end and I didn’t want more,” Williams said. “I had exhausted every possible piece of Arya. And this season was quite big for me. I had a lot more to do. Mainly because there’s just less characters now, so everyone’s got more to do.”
The final season of Game of Thrones is expected to debut on HBO in 2019.
