Sometimes, you’re elbow-deep in a family-size bag of Doritos digging for the crumbs, you miss the Demogorgon attack, and you need a quick rewind of the action.
Netflix is now testing out a new feature that allows viewers to rewatch scenes in a set of original and licensed content from its library, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The streaming service began user testing for the feature to replay scenes and entire sequences instantly with a remote click or screen tap. Subscribers will use the pop-up feature for the most pivotal scenes of series they’ve missed.
However, Netflix hasn’t decided if this will be permanent on the platform. “Right now we’re just looking to learn from it and may or may not roll it out broadly in the future,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement.
Netflix recently released “smart downloads” this year, which deletes a TV episode when the subscriber is done watching it and downloads the following episode. The company also launched a new user interface for TVs to improve navigation in the library.
Netflix’s January streaming list also rolled out yesterday with TV and film greats, including Pulp Fiction, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 4 Part 2, and The Incredibles 2.
