DC’s Aquaman hasn’t even officially released in America yet, but the film is projected to bring in more than $80 million in its opening weekend in China. A sequel starring Jason Momoa’s underwater DC hero is currently in development due to its predicted success.

Aquaman surpassed both Ralph Breaks the Internet and Crazy Rich Asians at the Chinese box officeThe DC film is expected to do quite well at home as well, with various box office predictions of $65 million, according to analysts.

News of a sequel were first revealed during an interview with Amber Heard, where The Hollywood Reporter first reported that Warner Bros. is confident that the superhero’s story will be a hit and that the studio is already planning for a sequel.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that while a writer has not yet been hired to pen the script, both Jason Momoa and Amber Heard are slated to return to Atlantis.

Aquaman opens in theaters December 21.
