Shut the front door. Nickelodeon is showing up to New York Comic Con (NYCC) in a BIG way with two panels, both on Friday, Oct. 4, based on classic ‘90s shows.
SpongeBob fans can celebrate the sexy sponge’s 20th anniversary at the SpongeBob Appreciation Day panel at Hammerstein Ballroom from 10:30-11:30 a.m. SpongeBob’s “Best Year Ever” continues with a table read of a fan-favorite episode and all of the latest Bikini Bottom news from voice actors Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Mr. Lawrence (Plankton), and Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), along with co-executive producers Vincent Waller and Marc Ceccarelli. NYCC attendees can also visit the Nick booth on the show floor (located in the Crystal Palace) to play an interactive SpongeBob game inside the Krusty Krab and to take photos with SpongeBob and Patrick.
Get a little spooky at the Are You Afraid of the Dark? panel at Hammerstein Ballroom from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The nostalgic anthology series is returning this October as a new limited series, featuring three hour-long episodes. The new members of the Midnight Society — Lyliana Wray, Sam Ashe Arnold, Miya Cech, Jeremy Ray Taylor, and Rafael Casal — will share what fans can expect. Executive producers BenDavid Grabinski and Matt Kaplan will also be there to share an exclusive clip.
