Nominations are announced and fancy gowns are chosen as we approach award show season. But, we’re mostly more interested in watching the host make jokes and aim to entertain the crowd and audience watching at home. And, of course, there’s all the must-watch, candid moments from the awards ceremony itself.
Few hosts have made such a lasting impression at the Globes than three-time hosts and BFFs Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, but I think this year might come close.
As Deadline first reported yesterday, next year’s hosts for the Globes have been announced for the January 6 award show. Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Andy Samberg will team up with Killing Eve star Sandra Oh to emcee the TV and film awards. Cristina Yang Oh will be the first person of color to host the event alongside the comedian.
“Sandra and Andy are the perfect choices to host this world-class event,” NBC Entertainment co-chairmen Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks said. “They bring wit, charm and style to a room filled with the very best of film and television. It’s sure to be another unforgettable fun-filled night.”
The nominations were also announced earlier today, with host Oh also scoring a nod for her role in Killing Eve.
