At this year’s Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC), LAIKA Studios is inviting attendees to take a trip into the world of its upcoming film, Wildwood, based on the 2011 novel by Colin Meloy.
From July 23-26, fans can stop by the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego and enter a portal to the Impassable Wilderness ahead of the film’s Oct. 23 release. There, they can find a space filled with references to the film’s teaser trailer, like Prue McHeel’s abandoned bicycle, Mac’s empty wagon, and discover various hidden artifacts and Easter eggs in the lush, woodsy environment.
There will also be an interactive experience where fans can discover which faction they belong to within the Wildwood world, take photos, and bring home a collectible keepsake. It’ll basically feel like you’re wandering through the forests of the Impassable Wilderness.
If you’re not able to attend during the con, there will be portals opening across the U.S. before October, so stay tuned for when one opens near you.
