At this year’s Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC), LAIKA Studios invites attendees to take a trip into the world of its upcoming film, Wildwood, based on the 2011 novel by Colin Meloy.
From July 23-26, fans can stop by the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego and enter a portal to the Impassable Wilderness ahead of the film’s Oct. 23 release. There, they can find a space filled with references to the film’s teaser trailer, like Prue McHeel’s abandoned bicycle and Mac’s empty wagon, while discovering hidden artifacts and Easter eggs in the lush, woodsy environment.
There will also be an interactive experience where fans can learn which faction they belong to within the Wildwood world, take photos, and bring home a collectible keepsake.
If you’re not able to attend during the con, portals will open all across the U.S. before October, so stay tuned for when one opens near you.
