Millennium Falcon at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

The news that millions of Star Wars fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is opening early, and the dates have been revealed!

The biggest single-land expansion in Disney Parks history will open first at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California on May 31. The second location will open on Aug. 20 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida. There is a slight catch, however, in that Galaxy’s Edge will be opening in two phases.  The news comes in light of the massive demand, with Disney readjusting the hyperdrive and deciding to open the land in phases rather than all at once.

While news of the early opening is exciting, some may find disappointment with only one of the two major attractions being open at launch. On opening day for phase one, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will be ready for guests to grab a seat in the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, but the highly immersive (and possibly most complex theme park ride of all-time) Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will be held until phase two.

Still, you’ll have plenty to do, with tons of intergalactic food and merch to enjoy.

You can find out everything you need to know to start plotting a trip to a galaxy far, far away right here.
