As the summer heat grows stronger every day, gamers can look forward to next month’s Summer Game Fest, a virtual event that’s getting extra hype in light of E3’s cancellation earlier this year.
Summer Game Fest is an annual, virtual event that started in 2020 and offers gaming announcements, in-game events, playable content, demos, and more. Unlike previous years, this year’s Summer Game Fest will be much more compact. The event will only run for four days, from June 9-12.
This year’s events will include a showcase of game announcements hosted by The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley on June 9; a Tribeca Games spotlight with exclusive gameplay and creator interviews on June 10; and a look at what’s next for Xbox and Bethesda on June 12.
Partners for this year’s event include Activision, Blizzard, Amazon Games, EA, Bandai Namco, Capcom, SEGA, Playstation, Xbox, Ubisoft, Warner Bros, Netflix, and more.
Additionally, the June 9 showcase will be broadcast to IMAX cinemas in the U.S., U.K., and Canada, in addition to the free, online livestream. Fans can see the list of participating theaters and buy tickets for these special IMAX live showings at tickets.imax.com. Each ticket will include a free gift bag full of video game goodies.
