It’s been more than 35 years since Jim Henson introduced the world to Gelflings, Skeksis, and Mystics in the puppeteer epic, The Dark Crystal. This summer, on Aug. 30 to be precise, fans can return to that world in a new series on Netflix called The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.Â
The show will consist of 10 episodes, each an hour long. The series takes place before the original movie and follows a trio of Gelflings — Rian (Taron Egerton), Brea (Anya Taylor-Joy), and Deet (Nathalie Emmanuel) — who go on an epic journey to save the world of Thra.
Today, Netflix released the first trailer and poster (above)Â for the show, and the visuals are breathtaking. The rest of the star-studded cast is equally impressive, including Mark Hamill, Keegan-Michael Key, Caitriona Balfe, Helena Bonham Carter, Alicia Vikander, and many more.
