If you’ve ever wished you could go back and re-experience the music, masks, and mystery for the very first time, you’re in luck! Penguin Random House is reimaginging the musical as a young adult novel series, written by New York Times bestselling author Erin A. Craig. The first book, Our Strange Duet, will follow Christine Daaé on her emotional journey to discover her agency and identity, while deepening the musical’s lore. Fans worldwide can get their hands on it as early as September.

Later this fall, fans can also score three collectible Little Golden Books retelling the tragic tale, as well as an all-new anthology, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘The Phantom of the Opera’: A Behind-the-Mask Look at the Global Phenomenon. This gorgeously gothic book will explore the creation and evolution of the musical through archival imagery, behind-the-scenes photos, and interviews with the cast and crew from throughout the musical’s 40-year run, including Sierra Boggess, Rachel Zegler, and Michael Crawford

Not a reader? No problem! An anime adaptation of “The Phantom of the Opera” is also in the works at Qubic Pictures, translating Christine and the Phantom’s haunting love story into an epic dark fantasy.
