Kristen Bell is back and better than ever as snarky detective Veronica Mars in the show’s Hulu reboot. Series creator Rob Thomas will return to executive produce and write the 8-episode miniseries, which focuses on spring breakers getting murdered in the town of Neptune. Veronica Mars will investigate against the wishes of the town’s wealthy elites, who want to shut down the investigation.

Original cast mates returning to the show include Jason Dohring as love interest Logan Echolls; Enrico Colantoni as Veronica’s dad, Keith Mars; Percy Daggs III as Veronica’s bestie Wallace Fennel; and David Starzyk as Richard Casablancas. Max Greenfield, who played a cop in the 2014 Veronica Mars movie will now play former love interest Leo D’Amato, and Francis Capra, also in the Veronica Mars movie, will return as well.

New additions to the cast include Dawnn Lewis as police chief Marcia Langdon; Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Neptune nightclub owner Nicole; Patton Oswalt as a pizza delivery man who loves true crime; Izabela Vidovic as a teen girl trying to find justice; Ryan Hansen as Dick Casablancas; and Clifton Collins Jr. as a hitman looking for revenge.

The original Veronica Mars aired from 2004 to 2007 first on UPN, and then switched over to The CW. The reboot will debut on Hulu next year.
