Apparently fans aren’t the only ones who don’t know exactly how Avengers 4 will turn out.
Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk/Bruce Banner) revealed on The Marvelist podcast that the Russo brothers are still trying to “finish the movie” in its current reshoots.
While Marvel keeps cast members, especially repeat spoiler-offenders like Ruffalo and Tom Holland, in the dark using tactics like dummy scripts, there may not be a complete ending yet for the cast to spoil.
From what Ruffalo says, it seems the directors hadn’t decided on a final plot when filming wrapped in January.
“We’re doing reshoots starting in September, and then we’ll go back into the international tour, we’ll go on tour,” Ruffalo said. “Then you guys will get the second installment. Which we don’t even know what it’s gonna be yet. We’re not just doing reshoots. We’re going to finish the movie, which we really didn’t get to finish totally when we left it last year.”
Ruffalo says that some of the redevelopment happens while the cast is on set.
“It’s pretty amazing,” he said. “And we’ll shoot some stuff and a few days later come back and reshoot it ’cause we wanna take it in another direction. It’s a very living organism. Even as we approach it being a locked picture, we’re still working on it.”
The movie, set to be the “finale” of the Avengers franchise, will be open in theaters on May 3, 2019.
