LEVEL UP: The Pop Insider’s Con Kick-Off Party
To start off the week, we are going retro for our sold-out, first-ever Con Kick-Off party. It’s at Coin-Op Game Room on Wednesday, July 17, from 7-9 p.m. You can read more about the event here, including the giveaways, geeky cocktails, games, and activities we have in store!
The Her Universe Fashion Show 2019
The Her Universe Fashion Show is back for its sixth year, with 24 designers showcasing their original geek couture designs for a chance to collaborate with actress and Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein on a Her Universe fashion collection for Hot Topic.
The Pop Insider joins the fun this year as the content sponsor, bringing fans at home a behind-the-scenes look at the show, including interviews with the designers! This year’s show is on Thursday, July 18, at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5:15 p.m.) at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in the Harbor Ballroom. Admission is free for all Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) attendees.
The Pop Insider @ Legion M San Diego Comic-Con Events
Need a break from the SDCC craziness? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. We’ve partnered with Legion M for some awesome, free, geeky events right outside the con. We’ll be at Theatre Box (701 5th Ave., San Diego) from Thursday, July 18, to Sunday, July 21 with a Fan Lounge and a Rooftop Pop-up Party!
The Fan Lounge features charging stations, a photo booth, daily giveaways, and more. The Pop-up Party will have karaoke, a cosplay touch-up station, cosplay meet-ups and photography, and even a special appearance from Fantastic Beasts‘Â Dan Fogler. “Behind the Plastic” Panel, Featuring the Pop Insider’s James Zahn
The Pop Insider senior editor James Zahn will talk all things action figures and collectibles with others in the industry as part of an official SDCC panel! The panel, titled “Behind the Plastic: Licensees, Licensors, and Buyers: How Your Favorite Action Figures and Collectibles Are Made,” is scheduled for Saturday, July 20, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Room 8. Here is the event listing in the official programming lineup, so you can add it to your SDCC schedule!
