Spongebog and Sonic and the Super Bowl LIV Logo

Super Bowl 54 is coming this weekend, punting products, celebrities, and million-dollar commercials across your TV and into your social feeds. Oh, and maybe a football or two.

These days, advertisers are trying to get the jump on the snap, teasing their big TV spots by releasing clips online in the days before the big game. Besides the cartoony snack product placements and nostalgia-feeding mega retailers, tons of the commercials coming this Sunday are trailers for the year’s upcoming blockbusters. So, when you’re already funneling millions of dollars to market your expensive movie, why not give your trailer a trailer?

Here are some teasers of the best trailers to look out for on game day.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run

SpongeBob kicks off the hype with this pre-big-game spot, a 30-second teaser in which Mr. Krabs asks SpongeBob to pitch him the story of the film as quickly as he can (“commercials at these games are really expensive, SpongeBob”). Look out for the post-pre-big-game spot to hear more about Snoop Dogg, flashbacks, Keanu Reeves, and a missing Gary the Snail.

Sonic The Hedgehog

A series of one-on-one interviews with some of the professional sports world’s fastest athletes reveals them giving praise to the fastest of them all: a little blue hedgehog named Sonic. The sports tie-in serves as a friendly reminder that around all of the explosions, CGI, and Jim Carrey to be seen on game day, “sports stuff” will be happening.

Disney’s Mulan

This dramatic sneak peek teases the action to come in Disney’s latest live-action remake. This clip will air during the game broadcast on Sunday, with a brand-new trailer dropping immediately afterward.

A Quiet Place Part II

The sequel to John Krasinski’s thrilling directorial debut, A Quiet Place Part II is pulling out all the stops, already dropping the Super Bowl spot plus a recently released featurette with Krasinski and star/wife/Brit Emily Blunt directly hinting about the excitement to come. Shh, … no talking!
