Buckle up, gamers! Volkswagen and AirConsole are bringing a whole new way to play Tetris to New York Comic Con (NYCC).
From Oct. 8-11, fans can head to The Pop Insider booth (No. 1935) to get behind the wheel of the all-new 2027 Volkswagen Atlas. What makes this ride next-level is the built-in AirConsole system, which turns the car’s everyday infotainment screen into a multiplayer gaming experience controlled right from fans’ smartphones, so you can duke it out during downtime.
Our game of choice? Tetris, of course. At NYCC, fans can hop inside a specially decorated Atlas to put their puzzle-solving skills to the test on the car’s digital display. Stack ‘em up solo with Marathon mode, race to clear 40 lines in Sprint, or compete head-to-head with up to three friends in Battle mode. As you clear lines, the Atlas’ ambient lighting responds in real time, matching up with the colors and transforming the cabin into a mini arcade.
And that’s not all! The console comes preloaded with another 20 fan-favorite video games, from classic crowdpleasers like UNO! Car Party and PAC-MAN Championship Edition to trivia, racing, party games, and more. To play, simply scan a QR code on the car’s digital display, and your smartphone will become a wireless gamepad, so you can compete from any seat while parked.
The activation celebrates the recent launch of AirConsole in select 2027 Volkswagen models, making the manufacturer the first volume automotive brand in the U.S. to offer the platform. In addition to the Atlas, the system will also be available on the 2027 Atlas Cross Sport, Tiguan, Golf GTI, Golf R, and ID. Buzz models through Volkswagen’s In-Vehicle Premium package subscription.
Ready to stack up some high scores? Visit The Pop Insider booth (No. 1935) all weekend long to check out the experience for yourself.
